Preston North End travel to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon looking to increase the pressure on the clubs in the Sky Bet Championship top six.

The Lilywhites are just two points behind sixth placed Middlesbrough while they have won three of their last four league matches.

Home side Sheffield Wednesday go into the match on the back of a 2-1 away victory at Leeds United last time out. The Owls were winless in seven matches in all competitions prior to that Yorkshire derby victory and will be feeling more confident about securing their place in the division for next season.

Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay could have the luxury of calling upon influential frontman Fernando Forestieri for the first time during his tenure with the player having previously been sidelined since August with a knee injury. There is plenty of competition for places with Sam Hutchinson and Barry Bannan both staking claims for starts.

Preston North End make the short trip to South Yorkshire with goalkeeper Declan Rudd set to return in goal after missing the 2-0 victory at Sunderland last time out due to the birth of his child. The Lancashire outfit will assess defender Greg Cunningham’s hamstring injury prior to kick off while fellow internationals Alan Browne, Sean Maguire, Daryl Horgan and Billy Bodin are all fit to feature after coming through the international break unscathed.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm with post-match reaction from both camps to be provided by The72.
