Derby County are not expected to offer Jason Shackell or Darren Bent new deals this summer, according to the Derby Telegraph.
Both of their contracts expire in June and it seems likely that they will be looking for new clubs, regardless of whether Derby will be in the Championship or Premier League next season.
Jason Shackell joined the Rams in July 2015 from Burnley for a fee of around £3 million. He was a regular for them in his first two seasons at the club but fell down the pecking order this season under Gary Rowett. He was sent on loan to Millwall in January and he has impressed for the Lions.
The 34-year-old is an experienced Championship defender and has had spells at the likes of Norwich City, Wolves, Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Burnley. It could be the case that Millwall make his loan move permanent in the summer, but other clubs could also move for him.
Darren Bent is also expected to follow Shackell out of the exit door of the IPro Stadium. The former England international is out on loan at Burton Albion at the moment and he could find himself looking for a new club in June.
The 34-year-old has 13 caps for England and has played in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Aston Villa. It will be interesting to see what his next career move will be.
