Five potential candidates to replace Graham Alexander at Scunthorpe United

League One side Scunthorpe United have sacked Graham Alexander, despite being 5th in the league. Here are five potential candidates to replace him-

Nick Daws (3/1 SkyBet)- The 48 year-old has been placed in caretaker charge and is the early favourite for the full-time role. He was assistant manager to Graham Alexander and has been at the club since October 2014.

Paul Musselwhite (6/1)- Scunthorpe United’s current goalkeeping coach is the second favourite for the job. He played 132 games for the Iron in his playing days. Since retiring in 2013, he has worked at Lincoln City, York City and Bury before joining Scunthorpe in June 2013.

Uwe Rosler (8/1)- The German boss has recently been sacked by League One side Fleetwood. Nevertheless, he did do a decent job with the Cod Army and would be a good appointment by Scunthorpe. He has also previously managed Brentford, Leeds United and Wigan Athletic.

Graham Potter (10/1)- He currently manages in Sweden for Ostersunds. Since joining them in 2011, he has taken them from the fourth tier to the first division and into the Europa League. He is being linked with a return to England but would he drop down to League One?

Craig Bellamy (12/1)- The former Liverpool, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Manchester City winger was heavily linked with the recently vacant Oxford United job, which was given to Karl Robinson. He is now an outsider for the Scunthorpe United job. He is a big name but it would be a risk for the Iron to go for someone who has not got League One experience.
