Everton are being linked with a move for Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks, according to the Sun.

The 25 year-old’s contract expires at Fulham at the end of the season and Everton are reportedly keen on signing him on a free transfer.

Fredericks has been in fine form for the Cottagers this season under Slavisa Jokanovic and has helped them climb into the Play-Off places. However, his long-term future at the club is in doubt and this has left Everton on red alert.

He started his career at Tottenham Hotspur but never broke into the first-team there. He had loan spells at Brentford, Millwall and Middlesbrough during his time at Spurs, where he gained experience of playing in the Championship.

Fredericks left Spurs in 2014 to join Bristol City. However, after just 26 days with the Robins he left them to join Fulham due to personal reasons.

Since joining the London side he has been in fine form for them and helped them get into the Play-Offs last season and looks to be pivotal in them getting into the top six in this campaign as well. Fulham fans will not want to lose him but they will face interest in him now from Everton.

Fulham signed right-back Cyrus Christie in January from Middlesbrough, which may be them preparing for life without Fredericks in the long-term. There is no doubt that Fredericks is good enough to play in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see what happens to him if Fulham are promoted this season.
