Scunthorpe United face relegation-threatened Rochdale in Sky Bet League One at Glanford Park this afternoon with the aim of finally returning to winning ways on home soil.
The Iron look likely to achieve a place in the end of season play-offs, however their promotion bid is not being helped by a winless sequence in Lincolnshire which has seen them fail to win a home match since New Year’s Day. In fact, Graham Alexander’s men have collected just two points from an available 18 in their last six home matches.
Scunthorpe United go into their latest league fixture with a number of injury concerns. Frontmen Lee Novak and Luke Williams remain sidelined with heel and scar tissue problems and will not be available for this afternoon’s clash with Dale.
Defensive duo Marnick Vermijl and Jordan Clarke are nearing match fitness, although the pair are rated doubtful to make the matchday squad.
Rochdale travel to Glanford Park in desperate need of a win to add fuel to their survival bid. Manager Keith Hill will be without the services of midfielder Andy Cannon who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured cheekbone. Niall Canavan, Keith Keane and Calvin Andrew all continue to be missing through their respective injuries.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm with tickets available to buy on the day for both sets of supporters.
