Wolves, Brazilian striker wants summer move to Wolves

Brazilian striker wants summer move to Wolves

Leo Bonatini wants to sign for Wolves permanently in the summer, according to the Express and Star.

The Brazilian striker is currently on loan from Al-Hilal and has expressed his desire of signing for Wolves on a permanent deal, with it looking increasingly likely that they will be in the Premier League next season.

He told ESPN in Brazil, “I know what I want, I want to stay. Here’s a place that I was able to adapt very well to the game style, it’s a game style that I like a lot, the country is a very good country, where I adapted to be able to live.”

However, he admitted that he is unsure of whether he will be signed by Wolves or not, “But I still don’t know, I don’t know much about my future”.

Wolves do have an option to sign Bonatini in the summer for £5 million. However, he has not scored in 18 games and this has left his chances of a permanent move in doubt.

The 23 year-old striker started life at Wolves well following his loan move from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. He scored 12 goals from August to December, but has not scored since.

He has had a decent goal scoring record throughout his career. He started out at Cruzeiro but loan spells at Goiás and Estoril. He was signed permanently by Estoril in 2015 and scored 17 goals for them in his only season in Portugal before being snapped up by Al-Hilal in July 2016.

Bonatini is certainly a promising player and is in need of a confidence boost to get his scoring touch back. Wolves should sign him permanently as he would offer them another attacking outlet in the Premier League (If/when they go up).
