League One side Charlton Athletic find themselves looking for a new manager with Karl Robinson leaving by mutual consent. Here are 5 potential candidates for the vacant role-
Harry Kewell- The current Crawley Town manager is the early front runner for the job. He joined the League Two side in the summer having previously managed Watford’s U23s. The 39 year-old played for the likes of Leeds United, Liverpool, Galatasaray and Melbourne in his career.
Lee Bowyer- He has been placed in temporary charge of the Addicks. He started his career at Charlton before spells at Leeds United, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Birmingham City and Ipswich Town. He has never been a manager before but you never know if he impresses in the games he gets in charge.
David Unsworth- The Everton U23s manager is another who is being linked. He was caretaker manager for Everton in the Premier League earlier this season and does seem to get linked with jobs that become available in League One. Could Charlton offer him a chance?
Mark Warburton- The experienced boss has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in January. He had previously managed Brentford and Rangers, where he did very good jobs. He would be a decent coup for Charlton.
Jaap Stam- The Dutchman is an outsider for this job, though a move to League One is unlikely for him. He has been sacked by Championship side Reading this week after a poor run of form. He got the Royals to the Play-Off final last season and deserves another chance in England.
