Stoke City and Celtic are interested in signing Angus Gunn on loan from Manchester City next season, according to The Sun.
The 22 year-old is currently on loan at Championship side Norwich City and he has been impressive for the Canaries this season. Daniel Farke’s side do want to loan him for next season as well but will face competition for his signature.
Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic are keen on a move for him. The prospect of Champions League football could be appealing to Gunn. The Glasgow giants have also done business with Manchester City before, through signing Patrick Roberts on loan for the past two campaigns.
Stoke City are also being linked. They are currently in a relegation battle and could be relegated to the Championship should their form not improve under Paul Lambert. They may be resigned to losing their number one Jack Butland in the summer and could potentially see Angus Gunn as his replacement.
Despite playing for England at U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 level, there is some dispute over whether he will play for England or Scotland at senior level. Gunn was born in Norwich but his dad, Bryan Gunn, was a Scotland international.
Gunn has never made a senior appearance for Manchester City and it will be interesting to see if he will ever become their future number one. There will be plenty of interest in him in the summer. Will he end up at one of Celtic or Stoke City or will he return to Norwich City for another season? This is one to keep an eye on.
