Cardiff City will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Wolves when they travel to Derby County on Sunday.
The hosts are sat in 5th place in the Sky Bet Championship, but the Rams are only three points ahead of Sheffield United who are just loitering outside the play-off places.
Cardiff City are currently in 2nd place in division but are only three points behind league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the Bluebirds are also only four points ahead of Aston Villa as they cling on for the last automatic promotion spot.
Gary Rowett will be looking for a response from his side following their last home performance against Fulham. A Ryan Sessegnon inspired Fulham took all three points from Pride Park with help from Newcastle United loanee Alexsander Mitrovic.
The Rams have drawn both their games since their last home game, as both QPR and Nottingham Forest held the promotion chasers.
Neil Warnock’s side will be looking to make it eight straight victories in a row when they travel to Derby. The form side in the Sky Bet Championship last picked up a bundle of three points on the road at Brentford on Tuesday night.
Despite going a goal down to a Neal Maupay finish, the Bluebirds would go on to take control of the game. Sol Bamba notched an equaliser before Callum Paterson put the visitors in charge before the break. Kenneth Zahore would add a third late on to ensure that Warnock and his players would take the points back to the Welsh capital.
Fans from both sides will be hoping for more action than the previous encounter. A 0-0 draw at the Cardiff City Stadium with a limited number of chances saw both sides head home with a point.
