Nottingham Forest signed 10 players in January as they bolstered their new look side. Aitor Karanka is expected to be busy again this summer, here are five players he could sign-
Michael Dawson- Nottingham Forest saw a deadline day deal for the Hull City captain fall through in January. However, with his contract with the Tigers expiring in the summer, Forest are expected to move for him again. He started his career at Forest and a return could be in the pipeline.
Dean Marney- Forest have been linked with a move for the experienced Burnley midfielder. The 34 year-old could be a potential target for Karanka as he looks to boost his midfield for next season.
Lee Tomlin- Karanka knows Tomlin well from their time at Middlesbrough together and he signed him on loan for Forest in January from Cardiff City. Tomlin’s long-term future at Cardiff is in doubt and he has impressed for Forest since joining them. Could a permanent deal be on the cards?
Adam Clayton- The Middlesbrough midfielder was a key player Karanka at Boro and played a pivotal part in their promotion to the Premier League in 2016. His game time at Boro has reduced since Tony Pulis took charge and he was linked with a move away in January. Forest would be a good club for him to sign for and could be on Karanka’s radar.
Grant Leadbitter- He is another who Karanka knows well from Middlesbrough. The 32 year-old’s contract at Boro expires in the summer and he could be an option for Forest on a free transfer.
