West Ham United academy graduate Ben Wells is currently on trial at at Sky Bet Championship club Queens Park Rangers according to Get West London.

The 18-year-old centre-back has captained The Hammers’ under-18 side and is highly rated at academy level.

Wells is yet to get close to the first team at the London Stadium and the player’s long term future with the East Londoners is somewhat uncertain.

It has now been reported that the young defender has joined QPR on trial with The R’s manager Ian Holloway thought to be keen to take a closer look at the player. Wells did not feature for the West Londoners at under-23 level in the 1-1 draw with Millwall at Loftus Road this afternoon but he could be fielded in academy or development squad fixtures for the club in the coming weeks.

Wells is one of many young players from fellow London clubs which have been offered trials at QPR. The R’s have taken in youngsters from the likes of English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea in recent weeks and have now turned to West Ham United as they continue their search for up and coming talent.

QPR have enjoyed a solid campaign in which they should end in mid-table, however some fresh faces are required at Loftus Road if they are to improve in 2018/2019.
