Sheffield Wednesday head coach Jos Luhukay has confirmed that the club are sweating over the fitness of three key players ahead of their Sky Bet Championship fixture against Ipswich Town at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening according to The Yorkshire Post.

The Owls have lost their last four matches in all competitions and the South Yorkshire club cannot afford to see their poor recent run continue against The Tractor Boys in their latest match.

It has been reported that Daniel Pudil, Frederico Venancio and Lucas Joao are all struggling to shake off injury problems ahead of the Hillsborough clash and the trio will be handed late opportunities to prove their fitness to The Owls’ medical staff.

Czech defender Pudil is believed to be battling an ankle problem which he sustained in the 4-0 battering at Bristol City on Saturday while teammates Venancio and Joao are also said to have picked up knocks in that match.

The heavy defeat at Ashton Gate saw Wednesday concede four goals for a second consecutive league match after they lost 4-2 to Aston Villa at Hillsborough in their previous Sky Bet Championship fixture. The Owls have won just once in the league under new boss Luhukay since his arrival at the club in early January.
