There will be some top quality defenders out of contract in the summer from the Championship as it stands. Here are 5 whose contracts expire in the summer-

Ryan Fredericks- The highly-rated right-back has been a key player for Fulham this season and is a big part of their team. However, his contract with them will expire in the summer and he has been linked recently with a move to West Ham United.

Andy Yiadom- The Barnsley full-back is another who has been attracting attention from Premier League clubs. He has had the likes of Swansea City sniffing around after him but has remained at Oakwell. With his contract set to expire in June, he could get his move to the top flight then.

Nedum Onuoha- The former Manchester City defender currently plays for QPR in the Championship but could leave them for nothing in the summer. He has been a good servant to the London club but could be tempted to leave them for another chapter in his career this summer.

Fabio- The Middlesbrough left-back was heavily linked with a move away from the Riverside in the January transfer window but stayed put. He is set to leave for free in the summer as it stands and the Brazilian is ebeing tipped for a move abroad.

Andreas Bjelland- The Denmark international has been a consistent player for Brentford since he joined them from FC Twente in 2015. However, his contract with them expires in the summer and there is no doubt that he will have clubs monitoring his situation.
