Coventry City’s dream run in the FA Cup was ended after they lost 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Sky Blues have attracted plenty of attention for reaching this stage of the FA Cup and for beating the likes of Stoke City and MK Dons on their way to the Fifth Round. However Brighton were keen to prevent being knocked out by another upset after falling victim to Lincoln City’s stunning run last season.
And while Coventry did get off to a bright start, Brighton did take the lead when Jurgen Locadia showed why the Seagulls made him their record signing by sweeping in an Anthony Knockaert cross. Twenty minutes later the lead was doubled when Connor Goldson headed in and the win was sealed when Leandro Ulloa was able to head in to get his first goal for the club since returning for his second spell.
The Coventry fans did get something to celebrate later on in the match when Jonson Clarke-Harris when he made the most of a poor clearance from Goldson to score with a good effort.
