Coventry City to be backed by another huge following in the FA Cup

Cup-fever will hit Sky Bet League Two club Coventry City again this afternoon when the Sky Blues travel to the Amex Stadium to face English Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.

The fourth tier promotion hopefuls were backed by a monstrous away following at Sky Bet League One club MK Dons in the last round and another huge army of travelling supporters are set to back their side on the south coast.

At Stadium MK, an outstanding away attendance of 7,833 was recorded by the visitors and Coventry City’s Fifth Round trip to Brighton & Hove Albion is now a 4,529 away sell-out.

The Sky Blues started their FA Cup adventure in the First Round way back in early November with a 2-0 home win over National League club Maidenhead United. The Second Round saw Coventry City defeat more non-league opposition in the form of Boreham Wood (3-0) before Jordan Willis and Jack Grimmer were the heroes as Mark Robins’ men dumped English Premier League club Stoke City out of the competition with a 2-1 win at the Ricoh Arena in the Third Round.

In the last round, Coventry City were giant-killers once again with Maxime Biamou’s goal proving to be enough to defeat Sky Bet League One club MK Dons 1-0 at Stadium MK in front of a crowd dominated by away supporters.

Beating Brighton & Hove Albion in their latest tie will not be easy but Coventry City and their fans are living an FA Cup dream which the success-starved club simply do not want to end.
