Young Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik is hoping to rejoin former club Birmingham City when his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in the summer according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 20-year-old Poland born centre-back has failed to make an impact with The Gunners and is unlikely to remain in North London beyond his current deal.

Bielik spent the second half of last season on loan in the Sky Bet Championship with Birmingham City and it has now been revealed that the Poland youth international would favour a return to St Andrews in the summer.

The defender made 10 league appearances for the Blues and Bielik made a positive impression upon the club’s supporters.

Bielik did not rejoin Birmingham City in the summer with the player having spent a spell on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury and the player joined Sky Bet League One club Walsall last month on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The youngster started his career in his homeland with Legia Warsaw before joining Arsenal in 2014 in a reported £2.4 million deal. Bielik’s only senior appearances for The Gunners have come in the early rounds of the EFL Cup and with his last outing having been made at the start of last season, an extension to his stay with the former English Premier League champions seems highly unlikely.
