Reactions from St Andrews as Birmingham City lose out in extra time

Birmingham City were able to take Premier League Huddersfield Town to extra time before losing 4-1 to knock them out of the FA Cup.

The Blues surprised many when in the Fourth Round Proper they were able to travel to the John Smith’s and hold Huddersfield to a 1-1 draw with Lucas Jutkiewicz equalising following an opening goal from Steve Mounie.

And they would end looking like they might cause a shock when the match came to St Andrews for a replay. Birmingham took the lead early in the second half through Che Adams with the hope that with the Terriers being poor throughout that might be enough to get them the Fifth Round match against Manchester United. However this goal seemed to wake Huddersfield up as just a few minutes they forced Marc Roberts to put the ball into his own goal.

The game would be forced to extra time and this is where Premier League quality would show. Huddersfield threw a barrage at the Birmingham defence and succeeded with Steve Mounie, Rajiv van la Parra and Tom Ince all scoring to make sure this is where Birmingham’s cup run ends.

But what was the reaction from the people involved as Birmingham exited the competition?
