Aston Villa had to hold on at the end as they edged a 3-2 thriller against Burton Albion.

Villa were expecting that it wouldn’t be too difficult to beat the team that is at the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship. But Burton were very willing to prove them wrong as they took it up to the final whistle and came close to claiming a point.

The home side got the lead just after midway through the first half when Scott Hogan was able to finish off a good move that also included Albert Adomah and Robert Snodgrass. They then doubled that lead in the second half when Adomah was able to score after being put through by a good ball from Snodgrass.

Things would be made interesting not long after that. Ahmed Elmohamady put the ball into his own goal which gave Burton hope, though that would be extinguished by Jack Grealish on the 88th minute. A grandstand finish was then set up as Burton got back into the game through Liam Boyce but they couldn’t get another in the little time remaining.

And here is all the reaction from what was a great game for the neutral.
