PREVIEW: Charlton Athletic v Oxford United

Charlton Athletic will be looking to record a fourth straight victory in Sky Bet League One when they take on managerless Oxford United at The Valley this afternoon.

The Addicks have returned to form in recent weeks with victories over Oldham Athletic, Bury and Walsall and Karl Robinson’s men now find themselves just one point behind the play-off places.

The Addicks go into the latest fixture with winger Mark Marshall available for selection once again following a family bereavement. Defender Jason Pearce is the most notable absentee with the player nearing fitness following knee injury but not yet ready to return.

Oxford United travel to The Valley under the caretaker management of Derek Fazackerley. The U’s are continuing their search for a new boss after sacking Spanish coach Pep Clotet last month following a poor run of results.

United could hand debuts to new signings Todd Kane and Ashley Smith-Brown while Rob Dickie is available for selection once again after being cup tied for the Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Former Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan could also make the starting XI after returning from an ankle problem while Joe Rothwell and Wes Thomas are also in contention.

The two sides have already faced each other on two occasions this season, both of which have ended in 1-1 draws. Oxford United were the 3-0 winners on penalties at The Valley in the Checkatrade Trophy early last month after a draw in normal time.
