Neil Warnock yet to speak to Joe Bennett following controversial tackles

Cardiff City head coach Neil Warnock has told Inside Wales Sport that he hasn’t spoken with Joe Bennett since he was sent off in the FA Cup Fourth Round match against Manchester City.

The Bluebirds had the chance of a lifetime on Sunday when they hosted Manchester City in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. Unfortunately for the South Wales club, the game did not become known for any sort of performance by Cardiff. The talking points were created by defender Bennett who was sent off for two bookable offences. However those yellow cards came from nasty tackles on Leroy Sane and Brahim Diaz which pundits criticised after the match.

Warnock, speaking ahead of Cardiff’s match against Leeds United, has said that he hasn’t talked with Bennett since that sending off and that he will be punished for that sending off. So while the Bluebirds are in West Yorkshire for what is going to be a fiery affair, Bennett will be at the training ground and that any of the fans who want proof can go watch him.

He said: “I’ve not spoke to (Bennett) if I’m honest, I’m disappointed in him really. He didn’t need to make the first tackle and the second one, in 92nd minute to get a yellow card was unprofessional I thought.”

“It was a ridiculous booking so what else can you expect? He’ll be training and if you want to come and watch him, 11 o clock until 1.30, anybody’s welcome!”

The game against Leeds will kick off at 3pm tomorrow.
