Aston Villa have signed Lewis Grabban on loan from Bournemouth until the end of the season as confirmed by the club website.
Grabban has been one of the players websites like this have been discussing the most over the last month. While Sunderland had a miserable first half of the season, Grabban was one of the few bright parts in it as he would score plenty of goals for the Black Cats and stop them from completely sinking into the abyss. However with Sunderland doing so badly, Bournemouth decided to recall him at the start of the transfer window.
This led to plenty of speculation as to who Grabban would sign for with Cardiff City being the leaders in this race for the majority of the month. But as deadline day closed in, it become apparent that Aston Villa was going to win this race. And so that was to be with Grabban signing a temporary deal that will see him at Villa Park until the end of the season.
After the deal was completed, Grabban said: “It’s a pleasure to be at a club like Aston Villa,”
“You only have to look at the stadium, the history and the support to know that this club deserves to be in the Premier League and hopefully I can play my part in getting this club back to where it belongs.
“It’s an unbelievable squad of players here and they’re on a great run of form as well so it’s a great time to be joining.”
