Bolton Wanderers are trying a late swoop to try and sign Crystal Palace’s Jordon Mutch according to a report from journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The Lancashire club have suddenly got a lot of money to play after Gary Madine left the club to join Bolton Wanderers for a reported £6m. But they haven’t got very long to spend it with just an hour left to go until the end of the transfer window. And so they are desperately trying to get something done before the transfer window closes as they don’t want that much money burning a hole in their pocket.
The man they are looking to spend their money on is Mutch who is currently contracted to Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old midfielder, who was once capped by the England U21s, signed for the Eagles back in 2015 but has struggled for first team football while at Selhurst Park. He hasn’t made a single appearance for them this season and he is desperate to get back to playing some football which this move to Bolton would allow.
Of course the main difficulty is not whether not the player and teams want it done, this is a deal that would benefit all parties after all, but the time left to do it. As mentioned above, there is very little time left in the transfer window and to get all the paperwork done in time will be a herculean task. But with Bolton desperate to get the midfielder to the Macron Stadium, they’ll be doing what they can to make sure he is one of their own by the end of the day.
