Derby County eye stunning late double deal for attacking pair

Derby County are keen on a late move for Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki, according to Alan Nixon of the Sun.

As reported by the 72 earlier and now by Alan Nixon, the Rams are also keen on a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer.

Palmer spent the first half of the season on loan at Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town but saw his loan spell cut shot due to a failure to nail down a regular first team spot.

A number of other Championship clubs have expressed an interest in taking Palmer on loan this month, with Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Norwich City all reported to be keen on a temporary deal.

However it now looks as if Derby are leading the race for the 21-year olds signature and there transfer business may not be about to end there.

Grosicki is one of Hull’s key attacking players and joined the Tigers in a £9m deal last January. He has scored six goals and assisted a further five despite City sitting outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Derby manager Gary Rowett is keen on strengthening the creative aspect of his side today, and he sees both Palmer and Grosicki as players who could further increase their attacking productivity.

The Rams have allowed striker Chris Martin to leave the club today, with the 29-year old joining Reading on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Grosicki and Palmer could be two of three players who join Derby before the 11.00 deadline, with Sunderland goalkeeper Jason Steele on the verge of joining.
