Bluebirds seal signing of Bolton Wanderers striker

Cardiff City have completed the signing of striker Gary Madine from Sky Bet Championship rivals Bolton Wanderers according to The Bolton News.

The 27-year-old Gateshead born frontman had been expected to eventually sign for The Bluebirds with the club thought to have previously submitted a number of transfer bids for his services.

It has now been revealed that the player’s move to the Cardiff City Stadium has been finalised with The Bluebirds said to have paid around £6 million to secure his services. That sum could increase depending upon his success in South Wales.

Madine netted 10 goals in all competitions for Bolton Wanderers this season despite the club’s struggles in the bottom half of the Sky Bet Championship table. The player leaves the Lancashire club with an overall goal record of 26 in 107 outings for The Trotters.

Despite playing for a whole host of clubs throughout his career, Madine is yet to have an opportunity to shine in the English Premier League. New club Cardiff City are currently just three points shy of the automatic promotion places in the Sky Bet Championship and the club have hopes of securing a return to the top flight.

The Bluebirds are the lowest scorers in the current top six but Madine will be hoping to change that record by continuing his goalscoring form at his new club.
