Nottingham Forest set to re-sign former midfielder from Middlesbrough

Nottingham Forest are set to re-sign Middlesbrough’s Adlene Guedioura according to a report from journalist Pete O’Rourke.

It has already been a very productive day for Forest. They have completed two deals already with Costel Pantilimon and Ashkan Dejagh already signing on the dotted line for Forest. They are in for some more players as well with reports linking them with moves for Joe Lolley and Jack Colback with the latter said to be close to completion. And now they are coming close to signing a player that has been a favourite at the City Ground in the past.

While Guedioura is currently contracted to Middlesbrough, he was once a Forest player. He signed for them initially on loan in 2012 before making that deal permanent for a reported fee of £1m. He would score some spectacular goals for the club while he played for them but his performances were as Crystal Palace were able to snap him up on a previous transfer deadline day.

Now though Guedioura is out of favour at Middlesbrough. He signed for them on transfer deadline day last season and would only make a few appearances for them as Boro dropped out of the Premier League. The relegation wouldn’t help him to break into the first team either as he has only made one appearance for the club this season when he played in the New Years Day win over Preston North End. So it will be good for him to head back to his former club where he was revered.
