Cole, Rangers make bid for Fleetwood Town striker

Rangers make bid for Fleetwood Town striker

Rangers have made an offer to sign Fleetwood Town’s Devante Cole according to a report from Football Insider.

The 22-year-old striker has been in great form this season having scored 12 goals in 34 appearances, though he is yet to score in 2018. But the problem for Fleetwood is that his contract is set to expire in the summer. They would get a fee if Cole left in the summer due to his age but that would be decided by a tribunal which might leave the Cod Army out of pocket.

This has led to many teams being interested in signing Cole during this month as they believe they might be able to sign him for a cut priced fee. Several teams from both the Sky Bet Championship and Sky Bet League One have been interested in signing him but it appears a giant from Scotland is firing the starting gun. This report has said that Rangers have made an offer to sign Cole and they will be hoping to wrap up any deal for him before another team can jump in.

Cole is used to transfer deadline day drama as he did come close to joining Sheffield United back in August but that fell through as it wasn’t finished in time. He didn’t allow that potential move to distract him as he’s got back to playing very well for Fleetwood, meaning even more teams are now interested in signing him. And with his contract set to expire in the summer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave today.
