Rochdale have snapped up Stephen Humphrys on loan from Fulham until the end of the season as confirmed by the club website.
The 20-year-old striker started his career in the Bury academy before he was signed by Fulham back in 2013. He has been coming through the prestigious academy and has made a few appearances for the Cottagers first team but he is still unable to break through into the first team. And so he needed to move out on loan and has now signed a deal with Rochdale that will keep him in Lancashire until the end of the season.
Humphrys has got experience in Sky Bet League One having had a loan spell with Shrewsbury Town in 2017 where he scored twice in 14 appearances for them. And with Rochdale being 23rd in League One, they’ll be hoping that Humphrys can provide the spark that will get them out of the relegation zone and keep them in this division.
Following the completion of the signing, he said: “I want to come in and score goals, get assists and play well,”
“I want to help the team as much as I can. That’s what I’ve discussed with the manager, and that’s what I’m going to try and do.
“The manager was interested in me in the summer, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get it done then.
“He’s kept his interest in me and I’ve had a lot of conversations with him and Brian Barry-Murphy, and they convinced me that this is the club to be at, at the minute.”
