Sunderland watching Swansea City striker

Sunderland are watching Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie over a potential move according to a report from HITC Sport.

The Black Cats have suddenly become quite light up front as we approach the end of the transfer window. Lewis Grabban was recalled from his loan at Sunderland by Bournemouth and it appears he will be heading to one of their Sky Bet Championship rivals by tomorrow night. He wasn’t the only striker to depart from the Stadium of Light this month though as James Vaughan would head to Wigan Athletic.

And so Sunderland are desperately looking to sign a new striker as that would add another problem to the ever-increasing pile of problems that they have as they stare relegation to Sky Bet League One in the face. And while they have struggled to sign some of their targets this month, they are now looking to a talented young Swansea striker. This player is McBurnie who is seen as a very promising player in South Wales.

The 21-year-old striker, who has been capped by the Scotland U21s ten times, has been on the edge of a breakthrough at Swansea having been in and around the first team since the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal as head coach, even starting in his first match for the club in a match against Liverpool. But he may not be able to sustain this and it may be better for him to get more guaranteed first team football with this loan spell at Sunderland. But they will have to be quick to get this deal done with transfer deadline day looming.
