Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill in talks with Premier League side

Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill is in talks with Crystal Palace, according to BBC Sport.

No fee has been agreed between the two clubs as of yet but Crystal Palace are keen to get a deal done before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday.

The 25 year-old handed in a transfer request at Preston in the summer but this was turned down by the Lilywhites. He has gone onto score 10 goals for them this season but could be set to leave them in the next 24 hours or so.

Hugill has been in fine form for Preston over the past year or so. He bagged 13 goals for them last season which has put him firmly on the radar of many clubs. However, it now looks like Crystal Palace will win the race for him.

The Eagles have been in the hunt for a new striker this month. Their manager, Roy Hodgson, is believed to be a big fan of Hugill and is keen to bring the target man to South London. If the deal does get over the line, it will be great move for Hugill and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the Premier League.

The striker started his career in on-league and has climbed up the football pyramid. After spells at Whitby Town and Jerez industrial in Spain, Hugill signed for Port Vale in League Two before being snapped up by Preston in 2014. This has proven to be a huge signing by Preston and they will look to make a tidy profit on him now.
