Millwall set to land Norwich City defender on a free transfer

Millwall are set to sign Norwich City defender Harry Toffolo on a free transfer, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

The 22 year-old is set to join the London club for free but with performance based ad-ons.

Toffolo has spent the first half of this season on loan at League One side Doncaster Rovers but a permanent move away from the Canaries appears imminent now. He is not part of Daniel Farke’s plans and is expected to conclude his move to Millwall in the next 24 hours.

It is a good move for Toffolo as he will remain in the Championship with Millwall. The Lions have started the season well under Neil Harris and are looking to bolster their back line by signing Toffolo.

He started his career with Norwich City but has never broken into their first-team. He has been out on loan on numerous occasions and has racked up a lot of game time on his travels. One reason behind his move to Millwall will be to settle down at a club and have a new permanent home.

Tofollo has had loan spell out of Carrow Road to Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe United and most recently Doncaster Rovers. He has also represented England at U18, U19 and U20 level. He has played 86 games in his career so far.

He is still only 22 years-old and has a promising career ahead of him. He time at Norwich was coming to an end but a move to Millwall suits both parties.
