Sky Bet Championship club Millwall are thought to have offered a contract to former fans favourite Tim Cahill according to Sky Sports sources.
The 38-year-old veteran Australian midfielder has been strongly linked with a return to The New Den in the past few days with the player having left A-League club Melbourne City last month after falling out of favour with the City Blues.
Sky Sports reported earlier that Cahill had travelled to London to discuss his potential Millwall return and latest reports have indicated that the popular midfielder has been offered a deal by The Lions.

Cahill is extremely well-liked by Millwall fans with the player having made 249 appearances for the club after breaking into the senior side from the club’s academy. The Australian developed a keen eye for goal which saw him bag 56 goals for the London club.
During his first spell with The Lions, Cahill helped Millwall to Football League Trophy and FA Cup finals while he was a promotion winner with the club in 2000/2001 when they won the old Second Division, now known as Sky Bet League One.
Cahill left Millwall in summer 2004 to join Everton where he went on to star in the English Premier League before spending time with New York Red Bulls, Shanghai Shenhua, Hangzhou Greentown and latest club Melbourne City.
Should Cahill sign the contract which has reportedly been offered to him, the player could make his second debut for Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship clash with Derby County at The New Den on Tuesday evening.
