Hull City interested in a move for Rangers star

Hull City are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Josh Windass, according to the Daily Record, as per a report by This is Futbol.

Josh Windass has been the subject of attention from various English clubs in this transfer window. Preston North End and Wigan Athletic have both seen bids for him turned down so far as Rangers hold out for the right price.

This is the first time Hull City have been linked with a move for him in this window. Josh’s dad, Dean, is a legend at the club and is now a club ambassador. This link could help the Tigers in any proposed deal to bring Windass to the club.

Hull boss Nigel Adkins was spotted at Ibrox earlier this week for the Rangers versus Aberdeen fixture. He was said to have been there watching Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, of whom the Tigers have had three bids rejected for now. He may also have been watching Windass.

Windass was born in Hull but played for Huddersfield Town as a youngster. He was relased by the Terriers and joined non-league side Harrogate Railway Athletic. He was then spotted by Accrington Stanley who swooped to sign him in 2013.

He spent three seasons playing in League Two before being snapped up by Rangers in 2016 for around £65,000. The Scottish side will make a tidy profit on Windass if they do sell him. A move to Hull City is now the latest rumour. Could there be a new Windass playing for the Tigers this season?
