Nottingham Forest make bid for Dinamo Zagreb hotshot

Nottingham Forest have made an offer to sign Dinamo Zagreb’s El Arbi Hillal Soudani according to a report from Algerian publication Le Beteur.

Forest have found themselves in a familiar position as they embark on a new era after Mark Warburton was sacked as head coach and Aitor Karanka was brought in to replace him. And as you’d expect, Karanka is wanting to shape the squad in his image and will be using this transfer window to bring some of his own players in. And in what may be a shock to some fans, they are making an offer for a player that is a complete unknown in this country.

But while Soudani is unknown in this country, he is currently known in Croatia where he played for Dinamo Zagreb. He has been one of the best players in that country over the last few years, winning the Croatian League Player of the Season award in 2017. At the moment he is a contender to win that award again as he is currently leading the race for the Golden Boot with 11 goals.

As you’d expect Dinamo Zagreb want to keep one of their star players and have rejected the advances from Forest so far. However the problem they face is the player himself wants this move to the East Midlands. Soudani has said in the past that he would jump at a chance to play in England because he loves the atmosphere of matches in this country and he may get his chance if a move can be forced.
