Newcastle United midfielder wanted by Wolves and Cardiff City

Championship promotion chasers Wolves and Cardiff City are both showing an interest in signing Newcastle United midfielder Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, according to The Sun.

Wolves and Cardiff have enquired about the possibility of signing the Premier League midfielder. Stoke City are also interested.

El-Mhanni is highly rated by Newcastle but has been involved in some controversy at the club involving Peter Beardsley and he could be ready to quit the North-East club and move elsewhere.

The 22 year-old winger was plucked from non-league by Newcastle United two years ago. He has had to bide his time in waiting for a first-team opportunity but he has been heavily involved with their U23’s.

As a youngster he played for Aldershot and Barnet before playing non-league for Farnborough and Lewes. He made a name for himself on YouTube where he uploaded videos of his trickery and skills. This earned him trials at Premier League sides Chelsea, Watford, Bournemouth, West Brom and Crystal Palace.

He was eventually snapped up by Newcastle United in the summer of 2016. He has since made two appearances for the club, both coming in FA Cup ties last season against Birmingham City and Oxford United.

It is the promotion chasing Championship sides Wolves and Cardiff City who are being linked with him. They will both be looking for players in the remainder of the transfer window to come in and boost their respective promotion pushes.

There is no doubt that El-Mhanni would be a decent signing for one of them. He is a promising youngster and could be set for a big future in the game.
