Bolton Wanderers eyeing up loan move for Sheffield United striker

Bolton Wanderers are looking into bringing Sheffield United striker Ched Evans on loan, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The Trotters want to add some more cover to their top scorer, Gary Madine, who wants to sign a new contract at the Macron Stadium.

Evans only joined Sheffield United in the summer but has struggled to get into their team. He has been affected by injuries on his return to Bramhall Lane and has only played nine games for them with seven coming in the league.

He has found it tough to break into their team past their current strikers Leon Clarke, Billy Sharp and Clayton Donaldson. The Blades have also recently signed Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan which could free up Evans to leave.

Bolton are the side showing the most interest in him. They are currently fighting for their lives at the bottom of the Championship and are out of the bottom three by one point at the moment.

Their manager, Phil Parkinson, is keen to add some more firepower to their attack and sees Ched Evans as a good option to sign.

Bolton are in a relegation dogfight at the moment and are keen to hold onto their top scorer Gary Madine. He has been the subject of interest from a couple of Championship clubs such as Cardiff City. If they can hold onto him in this transfer window and they sign Ched Evans on loan as well then their chances of survival will be given a huge boost.
