Norwich City are hopeful of signing Eintracht Braunschweig winger Onel Hernandez, according to the Sun journalist Charlie Wyett.
The Canaries have submitted a bid of around £1.7 million for the German winger. They look set to beat Huddersfield Town and Wolves for his signature.
Norwich have lost a couple of players in this transfer window such as Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield, Cameron Jerome to Derby County and Russell Martin to Rangers. It is losing Pritchard that many of their fans were most disappointed about and the one they need to replace the most.
Daniel Farke will use some of the £11 million they gained from selling Pritchard to sign Onel Hernandez. He has also bolstered his squad by signing the highly-rated Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards on loan for the rest of the season.
Onel Hernandez, who was born in Cuba but his nationality is German, currently plays for German second division side Eintract Braunschweig. The 24 year-old has not left Germany yet and started his career with Bielefeld and was snapped up by Werder Bremen II in 2012.
After just a season with Bremen he moved to Wolfsburg II, who play in the third division. He impressed for them in his two seasons at the club and was signed by Braunschweig in 2016 as a result.
Hernandez is highly rated in Germany and is still an exciting prospect at 24. Norwich are in need of a replacement for Alex Pritchard and their fans will be happy to see them signing one. Hernandez would be a decent coup for the Canaries.
