Sheffield Wednesday manager wants Hillsborough to be a tough place to come to

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has told the Sheffield Star that he wants Hillsborough to be a tough place to come to for visiting teams.

While Luhukay has got through his first game as Wednesday manager damage free after his team put in a good performance to earn a 0-0 draw with Sheffield United on Friday night. But tonight is another milestone for the Dutchman as he takes control of his first home match with the Owls facing Carlisle United tonight in an FA Cup Round 3 Replay fixture.

For Luhukay, this is a chance for him to start enforcing his ideology and showing the fans how his team is going to play like. And one thing the former Stuttgart boss wants is Hillsborough to be a tough place to come to for any visiting teams. And with the South Yorkshire side having not won at home since Halloween, where Adam Reach and Jordan Rhodes firing home to give them a 2-1 win over Millwall, this will be music to fans ears.

Luhukay said: “It’s very important we make Hillsborough a tough place to come to.”

“When you win games, it always give you a better feeling and for the next game in the league, which is on Saturday. It is always good winning games. It is what we like to do. We always like to win. Every player knows that and you must not be afraid to lose in games. You play to win.”

The game against Carlisle will kick off at 19:45pm.
