Sunderland plotting move for Barnsley and Wales striker

Sunderland are interested in a move for Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw, according to the Mirror.

Sunderland boss Chris Coleman knows Bradshaw well from managing him for Wales and he now wants to reunite with him at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats are struggling in the Championship and are currently in the relegation zone and seem in real danger of going down to the third tier if things do not change. Coleman has targeted Bradshaw as a replacement for Lewis Grabban, who has returned to Bournemouth.

Grabban was Sunderland’s top scorer with 12 goals and their fans will be hoping they can bring someone in soon to replace them goals. Bradshaw, 25, has scored 7 league goals so far this season for Barnsley.

Coleman will be looking to add Bradshaw for some more firepower up top and to bolster his attacking options for the rest of the season.

Bradshaw started his career with Aberystwyth Town before being snapped up by Shrewsbury Town in 2009. He spent five seasons with the Shrews before being allowed to leave them to sign for Walsall in 2014. He was prolific for Walsall and scored a combined total of 40 goals for them in his two seasons at the club.

He was signed by Barnsley in the summer of 2016 and his goals have been crucial to their success in the Championship over the past couple of seasons. There is no doubt that they will be hoping to keep him this month but he would be a big boost to Sunderland if they could sign him.
