Premier League side West Bromwich Albion want to sign Bristol City defender Aden Flint, according to the Bristol Post.
West Brom are targeting the Championship centre-back, who is apparently rated at £8 million, as a replacement for Jonny Evans who is being linked with a move away from the Hawthorns.
Flint has impressed for the Robins this season and has been a key part of Lee Johnson’s side who are currently in the Play-Off positions. He also impressed for them in their recent League Cup Semi-Final first leg game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium which has put him in the spot light.
Bristol City fans will be hoping they can see off interest in their star defender from West Brom and hold onto him in this January transfer window to boost their promotion chances.
Flint, 28, joined Bristol City in 2013. He started his career with Central Midlands Football League side Pinxton before being snapped up by Alfreton Town in 2008. Flint impressed many during his three seasons with Alfreton and he was targeted by many Football League clubs but it was Swindon Town who won the race for him.
Flint spent two seasons with Swindon before Bristol City signed him for £300,000 in 2013. It is not just his defensive work that is impressive, he is also a real threat going forward and has scored a lot of goals from when he goes up for corners. In Bristol City’s League One title winning season in 2014/15, Flint chipped in with 15 goals.
There is no surprise that he is being linked with the Premier League but Bristol City fans will be praying that they hold onto him.
