Leeds United were self-admittedly going to have a ‘quiet January’ when it came to incomings at the Elland Road club – so far there’s five come in through the door.
Many fans are crying out that the club bring in a striker and names such as Peterborough’s Jack Marriott and Preston North End’s Jordan Hugill have been mentioned as forwards the Whites are interested.
Then, earlier this evening, another name was dropped in to the mix – Juventus’ rated young starlet Moises Kean. The original source for this was via TUTTOmercatoweb (TMW), themselves referencing Sky Italy.
TMW say that there are “British sirens” sounding for the youngster who is currently on loan at Hellas Verona from Juventus, who are known as La Vecchia Signora in Italian football.
Kean is certainly able to be placed into the category of ‘exciting prospect’, the youngster having played 15 games on loan this season from Juventus to Hellas Verona in Serie A – scoring twice including against AC Milan.
Below first team level, youngster Kean is definitely prolific and has been across his Juventus career. Aside from the once goal in four appearances for Juventus’ first team, Kean has scored regularly throughout his time in Turin. In 20 Primavera youth games, he netted 12 times, improving this strike rate when he progressed to the Under-17. At this level he was quite prolific, scoring 29 goals in just 36 appearances – including 19 in the 2015/16 season.
With news of this ‘interest’ rippling across social media, it didn’t take Leeds United fans long to get their opinions aired.

He’s considered one of the best prospects in Italy. Very quick and strong but still needs to learn when to pass it and to have more composure. Raw talent. Could be an exceptional player if he matures as hoped. At the moment I’d describe Sacko as a poor man’s Moise Kean

Would it be a coup if Leeds United landed the talented Italian? Yes it would, even if he arrived on loan until the end of the season. If he’s good enough to feature 15 times in this season’s Serie A, then there should be little doubt that he’s good enough to turn a few heads in the English second tier.
