Five players who Leeds United need to move on from the club in summer

Jay-Roy Grot (striker)

The physically impressive 19-year-old Grot came to prominence at Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, whom he made 35 appearances for, scoring six goals in the process. With NEC relegated at the end of the 2016/17 season, Grot was courted by Serie A side Fiorentina – the proposed deal falling through after the clubs argued over the value of a deal.

It was here that Leeds United stepped in and brought the 10-cap Holland Under-17 international (two goals) to Elland Road. It is safe to say that he hasn’t had the best of times as a fledgling White, where he has struggled to find both form and consistency. He’s only featured in 12 Championship appearances, used exclusively as a late substitute and has provided one assist for Kemar Roofe in the 3-1 loss to Cardiff City at Elland Road.

With such limited game time and opportunity, the jury is still out on Jay-Roy Grot as a Leeds United player. He’s got promise and potential and that is something Leeds United need to think about.

Verdict- Loan (half season at League One level)
Eunan O’Kane (defensive midfielder)

Seven-cap, Derry-born Republic of Ireland international Eunan O’Kane joined the Whites on the last day of the summer 2016 transfer window from Premier League Bournemouth for a fee thought to be around the £500,000 mark. He featured in 116 games for Bournemouth after his free transfer from Torquay United – scoring six goals and providing 11 assists for the Cherries.

His transfer to Leeds United at the end of August 2016 has seen him grow into a valuable member of the Whites squad, becoming one of the more consistent names to appear on the team sheet this season – the Irishman making 22 appearances that have yielded three assists. Up to press he’s featured in 48 games for the Whites, adding six assists but yet to get his name on the scoresheet.

With Leeds having exciting youngsters such as Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips, and with Japan star Yosuke Ideguchi in next season, it looks increasingly likely that O’Kane will be pushed back down the midfield pecking order.

Verdict – sell
