Five players who Leeds United need to move on from the club in summer

Leeds United brought in 16 players over the summer, loanee Pierre-Michel Lasogga being the last of those coming in. There’s five been brought in January; that’s 21 in total.

For Leeds fans, players coming in in that number is something reminiscent of the early Cellino days when droves of players from the Italian lower leagues rocked up at the club – with only Gaetano Berardi proving to be anything of worth.

A lot of these players headed straight for the Under-23s and are being used to strengthen a pool of players that was to some degree neglected and left to whither under the Cellino regime. Still, there are some that have been bought for the first team squad with the intention to pad that out and provide a sense of strength in-depth.

At the moment that ‘strength in depth’ has driven the Whites into, and around, the play-off picture in the Championship. Only time will tell whether Leeds will go up to the Premier League this season, the fate of the club lies elsewhere in that respect.

However, the following pages contain the names of five players who should be moved on at the end of this season – along with reasons why this should be.
