Sheffield Wednesday have battled to a credible goalless draw with local rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in new boss Jos Luhukay’s first game in charge.
A competitive affair saw few clear-cut goalscoring opportunities while Owls defender Glenn Loovens was sent off just after the hour mark for a second bookable offence.
Despite being down to 10-men, Sheffield Wednesday arguably had the best chances to win the game late on but they came up against a goalkeeper in top form in Simon Moore in The Blades’ goal. After watching their side’s spirited display, Wednesday fans took to Twitter to give their views on the match.

I’ll take a point after that, especially being down to ten men. The seeds of Luhukay’s style were already starting to sprout on occasion. A few positive moments to take from that game, but we need to kick on from here #swfc

Luhukay's objectives for the rest of the season should be:
Stay up (obviously)
Pray nobody else gets injured
Keep getting that work rate out of them
Turn that moustache into something truly magnificent#swfc— Cacky Raphael (@London_Calling_) January 12, 2018

8 first teamers out. New manager never managed in the country. Only a week to get ready. New formation. First game away at little neighbours. Down to 10 men for third of the game. Yet still made the best chances and deserved a point. #Character #swfc

Totally brilliant performance from the Owls, greatly improved, well done Jos. Very unlucky not to nick it at end but brillant save earlier from Wildsmith. Look who's to come back!! @swfc UTO WAWAW

If that's what Jos can do after 4 days with players missing and 10 men for 20 minutes then I'm liking it #swfc

Proud of that reaction. My heart nearly exploded when Reach hit that one near the end. Let’s go on now together for the rest of the season. It will get brighter 💙#swfc
