Derby County table £8 million bid for Norwich City striker

Derby County have made an £8 million bid for Norwich City striker Nelson Oliveira, according to HITC Sport.

The Rams are looking to bolster their attacking options to boost their promotion push and hope to tempt Norwich with an £8 million bid.

Nelson Oliveira has scored 7 goals for the Canaries so far this season. He bagged 15 for them in all competitions last season and is a proven goal scorer at this level and seen as one of the best strikers in the division.

Derby are currently 2nd in the Championship table and are in great form under Gary Rowett and chasing promotion to the Premier League. They have been close in recent seasons to going up but always seem to fall short in the end. However, the Rams faithful are in confident mood at the moment and dreaming of a return to the top flight.

The potential signing of Nelson Oliveira would certainly improve their chances of promotion. They already have a strong selection of strikers to choose from at the moment with the likes of Matej Vydra, David Nugent and Sam Winnall.

Gary Rowett obviously thinks they need another option. Oliveira is an experienced striker and has had spells at Benfica. Rio Ave, Deportivo la Coruna, Pacos de Ferriera, Rennes, Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and now Norwich City. Could Derby County be next?

These are exciting times to be a Derby fan and the possible signing of Nelson Oliviera would boost their promotion chances. For Norwich, they will not want to lose another key man with Alex Pritchard having just left for Huddersfield Town.
