Bradford City interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder

The Daily Mirror has suggested that Bradford City are interested in bringing Nottingham Forest midfielder Jorge Grant to Valley Parade.

The 23-year-old has spent the first half of the season away on loan across the River Trent at bitter rivals Notts County who sit two divisions below Forest in League Two.

Grant has been in exceptional form for the Magpies scoring 16 goals in all competitions, in what has been an exceptional campaign from central-midfield. The attacking midfielder is thought to have caught the Bantams eye and as the mirror suggests, the player does have a release clause, should the Bantams wish to activate it.

Telegraph and Argus journalist Simon Parker who covers Bradford City has suggested that there may not be too much in the links between the goalscoring midfielder and the Bantams, although he does suggest there is some form of interest from the League One promotion chasers.

Grant spent the end of last season away on loan at Notts County but his impact has been huge this season in a campaign that has seen Notts County move to second place in the League Two table. Alongside the Magpies success in the cup, they’ve also managed to make their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup after a surprise victory away at Brentford last weekend. They will now face either Wolves or Swansea City at Meadow Lane in the next round of the cup.

Grant will no doubt have attracted other potential suitors with his fantastic goalscoring record in the first half of this season. The Nottingham Post reported that Championship side Norwich City had been tracking the young midfielders progress at Meadow Lane, and with their midfielder Alex Pritchard looking set to complete a switch to Huddersfield Town, it could hijack any transfer plans that Bradford City may have been preparing.
