Middlesbrough will be looking to sneak into the play-offs this weekend as they entertain fellow play-off hopefuls Fulham.
Middlesbrough are sat just a single point and place outside the play-off places following their return to the Sky Bet Championship last season.
Their visitors are sat two places below them in 10th and are only three points behind Sheffield United in 7th.
Middlesbrough will be looking to set their home record straight this weekend after they were defeated on their own patch by play-off chasing Aston Villa.
Tony Pulis’ side were able to respond well with an impressive 3-2 win away at Preston. Daniel Ayala bagged himself a rare brace as Boro were able to pick up points on their travels. Former Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson also scored with a delightful curling effort.
Visitors Fulham come into the game off an excellent comeback over Ipswich Town last time out, beating the Tractor Boys 4-1 at Craven Cottage. A Ryan Sessegnon inspired Fulham side scored four times in seven second half minutes to completely switch the game on it’s head.
Prior to that, Fulham had lost back to back to back games against Cardiff City and Hull City, shipping six goals in the process.
The Cottagers were also knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend as Premier League Southampton dumped them out courtesy of a James Ward-Prowse.
The spoils were shared the last time these two met in the Sky Bet Championship. It was the case of the late show as Aboubakar Kamara appeared to have won the points for Fulham when he scored in the 86th minute.
But Middlesbrough were able to equalise in the 88th minute when full-back Cyrus Christie bundled the ball over the line to ensure Boro made the long trip home with a point in the bag.
