Bradford City submit three bids for unnamed players

Bradford City’s head of recruitment Greg Abbott has stated that the club have submitted transfer offers for three unnamed Football League players after speaking on BBC Radio Leeds.

Abbott made the announcement today when speaking to Bantams Banter on their Bradford City special on West Yorkshire Sport Daily at BBC Radio Leeds alongside the clubs Chief Operating Officer James Mason.

Two of the players who the club have submitted bids for are currently playing their football in the Championship, whilst the other player is currently contracted to a  League One side. Abbott confirmed that the Bantams had made permanent offers for two of the players, whilst they have attempted to bring the other player to the club on a loan deal. It’s uncertain as to which deal corresponds to which player in which division but as January progresses, it’s likely more news will become available.

It’s believed that Bradford City are looking to sign a striker after missing out on Kieffer Moore who recently signed for Championship Barnsley.

Abbott also suggested that the club could be looking to strengthen their defence with some new recruits in the coming weeks. This comes after a tough first-half of the season in which the Bantams have conceded 34 goals in the league, the highest total out of the clubs in League One’s top-six.

Bradford City brought Charlie Wyke to Valley Parade on deadline day during January last season for a fee believed to have been about £250,000. Bantams fans will be hoping that any potential new recruits in the coming weeks will have a similar impact to Wyke who has cemented his place in Stuart McCall’s starting XI with his tally of eleven goals in the league.

The coming days will be incredibly interesting for Bradford City fans and no doubt, fans will immediately begin speculating about who these three mystery players could be. One thing is for certain, the Bantams mean business in this transfer window and are prepared to do what it takes to sustain a promotion challenge.
