Fulham, Norwich City and Sheffield Wednesday are all keen on prolific Spanish striker

Championship sides Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City are all being linked with a move for Real Vallodolid striker Jaime Mata by Spanish website Pucela Fichajes.

Premier League side Bournemouth have also been credited with an interest with the Spanish Segunda Division striker, whose contract expires in the summer.

The 29 year-old has scored 18 goals for Real Vallodolid so far this season and it is this form that has made him one of the most prolific strikers in Europe at the moment.

He has been attracting attention from various Championship clubs who could swoop for him in this transfer window. The Spanish side may want to cash in on him in January to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

The 6ft 1inc striker was born in Madrid and has spent his whole career playing in Spain. He has played for the likes of Galactico Pegaso, Socuéllamos, Mostoles, Lleida Esportiu, Girona and now Real Vallodolid of whom he signed for in 2016.

Sheffield Wednesday are one club who have been linked with a move for him. Their new manager, Jos Luhukay, will be given money to spend this January as he looks to put his own stamp on the team. The signing of Jaime Mata could be one step towards doing this.

He will face competition from Fulham and Norwich City for him though. They are two clubs who need a striker to help bolster their attacking options for the rest of the campaign. It will be interesting to see where Mata will end up.
