Leeds United have turned into 2018 as they did into 2017 – a side in the play-off picture. It is well documented in terrace song what happened to Leeds United from January 2017 – May 2017.
After 26 games, and 142 days, Leeds United fell apart at the tail-end of the campaign. A lacklustre set of displays saw the Whites lurch from result to result, eventually dropping out of the top-six and ending a creditable seventh.
That campaign’s successes were largely achieved on the back of Chris Wood’s 30-goal season across all competitions – 27 of these in the Whites’ Championship campaign. With Wood gone, there was something of a hole to fill up front in Leeds’ 4-2-3-1 formation.
Goals have come from elsewhere in the side, with out-and-out loanee striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga having some success with five goals to his name, the same number as three other players: Gianni Alioski, Kalvin Phillips and Samu Saiz.
With Saiz sidelined until February 24 and the visit of Brentford to Elland Road, the Whites could do with someone to really add a spark to the Whites, a spark that fires them further into the play-off picture and away from the fringes such as sixth place.
With Leeds look to spark, here’s five attacking players that would definitely allow them to do so.
