Five players Sheffield Wednesday could sign for a cut-price fee

Nedum Onuoha (QPR)

While Wednesday did finally address their lack of depth in defence with the signings of Frederico Venancio and Joost Van Aken, there are still issues. It’s becoming obvious that Glenn Loovens is getting closer to the end of his career and that a replacement is needed. Unfortunately because there is a dearth of quality centre-backs out there, the lack of options to sign for a reasonable fee is a real problem. Onuoha is one of the better options this January. He is very experienced and reports do indicate that QPR might be willing to sell because his wages are still a bit hefty. Not an exciting signing but would be solid.
